I just asked him why he drilled screws in the guitar, it will be interesting to see his reply.

Too much time on your hands and ready access to power tools is sometimes a very bad thing. Of course one could ask the same thing of Alvin Lee about why he stuck cheesy decals all over his 335 which of course was a different era and most possibly there were other elements in play at the time..:naughty:

Ah well, that Stevie Ray Something or other guy slapped his initials on the guitar and then turned it into kindling and now we've got folks who get all squinchy to have a version of that. Ditto the POS that Edward Van Poofenstock put together, complete with reflectors and eyebolts and tape and crap. $25K if you want a repro. And you KNOW that the Zakk guitar his little minions are just waiting on is the half-burned one with the beer caps beaten into it.

Herd mentality. At its finest. "Oh look, a cliff!"

Oh dear me!

Why someone do that to any guitar never mind a full blown Lester?

'Retainer Bolts' for holding what?

Yes, I wonder what those are meant to retain. Certainly not his dignity. :laugh2:

It hurt to look at the poor LP. I guess to each his own, but for me, those screws on the front of that LP royally messed up a great looking guitar.

wow, I used to do bad things to 70's and early 80's LP's........... like adding Floyds, middle pickups, changing from minis to fullsize HB's but this is even worse than that....... WTF?
