1 - That's a $2,000 Ultra, not a $800 MiM. It's worth the time to repair.
2 - A 10+ year old MiM with that kind of damage, whether it is or is not only on the surface, is not a good trade for your Epiphone BB3.

2002, your BB is still Korean, right? That's a keeper, those were some good years for Epiphone.

2009 or earlier/later, there's little difference in the line from the introduction to 2017 when it was replaced by the Player series.
It's effectively a CBS era Strat... standard hardware, 6-screw tremolo, pickups are nothing special, and they made a billion of them so there's no value in the age.
One issue is it is not unusual to find multi-piece bodies... like 2x2's stacked up to build the slab. I don't think even Epiphone has done more than 3-piece bodies.
