Not sure if this has already been posted. Saw it and thought it was cool.

I wonder which year the picture was created... My 2002 standard is.. I believe weight relieved as per the 'Custom, Classic' style.... so its either since or before that date... Any thoughts folks ?

I believe the first year for the Supreme was 2003, so it would have to be after that.

Should be noted that not all Traditionals are like that. Most years have what's listed as Custom/Classic.

Would have been cool if they included Class 5s.

And the "Original series" 50s and 60s Standards are solid Traditional.

The middle picture in the OP for ‘Standard, Studio’ is Modern Weight Relief introduced in 2012.

Missing in the pic is Chambered of 2008-2012, which you can see here http://www.gibsontraditional.com/body-construction/

The model names under those pics are rather misleading........... Only two are correct....The Supreme and Elegant

From left to right is should be listed.

No- weight relief......Traditional weight relief (since '83 all LP models)..... Modern weight relief..........

What is missing is the 2008-2011 Chambered and the Ultra Modern weight relief.

The Modern weight relief shown in this pic is only 2012-2013 as it shows the long neck tenon and only the Standard model had the long tenon.... not the Studio.

The Ultra Modern weight relief NOT shown is 2014 to present and does not have the long neck tenon. Similar to the Modern weight relief but with slightly larger holes.

The Chambered 2008-2011 also has the large and long puzzle tenon on the Standard only.

I believe the 2012 Studio 50's Tributes have these.

To the best of my knowledge this chambering was standard, at least on all Studios (and i believe a few of the regular LP offerings), from ~ 2008 and on to 2012/13.

Buyer beware - those things can actually be neck heavy - which is about the last thing you'd expect from a Les Paul.

Yeah that's a fairly old pic (like maybe 10 or 12 years old).

My 2010 LP Studio 50's Tribute was supposedly chambered. It was 7lbs 7 oz and sounded great. It could get a little bit lively, but I really liked it that way.

But how do we really know? I think I'm going to cut mine in half just to make sure.
I'm going to trust my scale that says that it's 10 pounds.
If that's weight-relieved then they must have wound the pickups with Tungsten.

I have seen weight-relieved guitars that weigh 10 pounds....don't let that fool you.

Weight is in the density of the wood, not necessarily the amount of wood.
