My apologies if this has been raised before.

My question is, what is the history of the weight of LP Customs? Were they also weight relieved starting in 1982 like the Standards and did they become chambered in late 2006 like the Standards? Or have they taken a different route?

Nearest guitar shop has (2) 2007 LP Customs. 1 cherry sunburst and the other ivory. He said the ivory weighs in "around" 12 pounds and the cherry sunburst is close to the same, so he said. They are pretty hefty (I lifted them) so obviously to me, they aren't chambered. Are they weight relieved though? Solid? What is their history?

Also, specifically what pickups have the Customs used throughout the years.

They have been weight relieved since the early 80's. probably swiss cheese holes. They are not chambered with the exception of some custom shop models i think. Mine 07 is heavy and def. not chambered.

Pups were patent number in the early 70's, then T-tops then if you were lucky Shaws, then changed to the 490 498T and they have been like that since the late 80's?? I think?

Loki knows this in and out.

But the new regular customs are not chambered.
