I'm trying to find an old thread about a guitar I happened to purchase. Two years after buying it (not from the thread poster, but from another dealer), I found out it was a counterfeit. Thankfully the dealer refunded me, but I am trying to find a thread about that guitar - and it's gone.

The only real detail I can remember is that the original poster had been idle a LONG time and had stopped responding to people. That said, they were making some controversial comments about the guitar that the good members of MLP were giving him righteous shit about.

Anyhow - TL;DR: Did MLP purge the site of threads started by deleted or idle users in the last two years?

Thanks!

I think the issue is how the search feature works on this site. Not very useful. If you haven’t tried already, I suggest going through your posting history and see if you can find it.

For what I have seen so far, the threads are still there if you go directly to your profile and threads you posted.
Scroll through them there.

That’s an understatement. :naughty:

Yes, I did the same thing, searching for some of my old threads and got nothing.

If you click on the three horizontal bars on the top left to get the MENU, and then click on YOUR THREADS, you should have a chronological list there.

Nothing?

I did that. I've done the stuff I can with my personal account. The threads are gone.

I know how Google works. Don't be condescending, please. The way I found history on my guitar originally was via Google, searching for the instrument and the serial number. It led me to the information.

That as two years ago. Enshittification of Google moves in mysterious ways.

Whoa!!!! Not at all as intended.
Just stating facts.
Excuse me for trying to contribute.
I’ll make note of your name and assure you it won’t happen again.

Between this shit and othe fret-leveling advice shenanigans in the LC, this is where military veterans develop a headache. We don't pack the gear needd to put up with this shit.

Ever been asked directions to the freeway, and have an out-of-towner argue with you?

I'm pinching the bridge of my nose right now.
