Alright so I'm either going to buy an avatar custom 212 cab or a lopoline dovetail joints 212 cab. What should I load it with? I've listened to all the brands mentioned above. I want a classic sounding speaker with lots of mids of one side and a more modern "thump" speaker to complement it. What should i go with?

I've tryed WH speakers and didn't like 'em. Celestion or Scumback for me.
A Celestion Vintage 30 and G12-H30 Anniversary is a killer combination. These two together will do it all. I wish there was one speaker that had this tone.
I also like Celestion Heritage G12-65's.

What didn't you like about warehouses? BTW i forgot to mention in the OP that i don't want high sensitivity (that counts out eminence's G12H30 copy "the wizard"), so i can achieve better tube drive at lower levels.

How about Webers? If you're considering WGS, might as well look into Webers too, right?

I've never heard them.

Well... they're like WGS, they basically try to replicate the sounds of Celestions and the like. Having only heard one or two models of each brand probably won't help out much here, because they're all so different sounding.

cant go wrong with any of the heritage (english made) celestions. the greenback heritage G12M i have in my marshall 1974x has lots of nice creamy mids. ive liked most of the eminence "celestion based" speakers ive heard. not a fan of the warehouse. got their version of a celestion blue for a cab i had built and promptly swiched it out for the weber blue dog. no comparison. my two cents...you cant go wrong with webers or heritage celestions. but you can go wrong with warehouse. webers take a while to get, but they are always worth the wait.

I can tell you this, next time I need a replacement for a Celestion I'm buying from Warehouse. Best value, period.

I just swapped the C12N in my Blues Jr NOS with a new Eminence Private Jack. There is a definite improvement in tone and I'm pleased with it though I'm still trying it out. Picked it up new in the box for $50 from a local. So far so good!

How do the G12H Heritage and Anniversary compare? I know the Heritage is 55 Hz and the Anniversary is 75 Hz. Is the Heritage worth the extra $$?

If money is no object - Celestion. If you want good tone and save a few $$$ in the process, WGS. The WGS Veteran 30s and the Reaper 55Hz are a great combination in a 2x12 or 4x12. I have a 4x12 loaded with them and it sounds awesome. All of my amps sound better through that cab.

Big difference, the Heritage is an exact replication of
the late 60's G12H Greendback, which were
the original 12 inch bass speakers they put out.
The Aniversary is more like a cross between a
G12M greendback and Vintage 30.

its worth the extra money for the Heritage
you cant beat the creamy tone of the speakers

If you are buying an Avatar cab, you should be looking at the Hellatones which are broken in Celestions. I agree with the posting about the G12 and V30, I think the 30 and 60 are the corresponding hellatones.

Weber, Weber, Weber. Jason is right! I've bought eight this year and am getting ready to order two more.

Are you after a Fender or Marshall tone. How much do you want to spend. Webers are built to order so you have many options to choose from.

if im looking for a fender type amp, webers all the way. though the weber blue dog is a great sounding version of the celestion blue. but for a marshall type amp, def celestions. warehouse...meh. if money was an issue, personally id go with eminence before the warehouse.
