So I'm going on my 5th month out of work due to shoulder surgery. For the first 4 months, the benefits were not a problem. I submitted the Dr's notes after each visit and they were approved.
Not this time,I went to the doc a week and 3 days ago and he said i needed 1 more month off. Submitted the paperwork and nothing.
I feel like they are trying to force me to return to work against the Dr's advice.
I know if they deny my benefits and make me return to work and I get injured then they are on the hook. However, If I was to return on my own I think it would be on me.
So anyway while I may be looking at some financial problelms ahead I am at least getting a lot of guitar time in . I played for about 7 hours yesterday.

Are these workman's comp payments or short term/long term disability payments?

So today I was told they are waiting on a "Peer report". Apparently, this is where one of their Dr's looks at the report and decides if my Dr is correct in saying I need more time off.
At this point, its been 9 working days since my benefits ran out. So if they decided I should be back at work I guess I'm just screwed on those 9 days.
I live pay check to pay check so while it won't be a life-altering experience it will suck royally.
The deal is that the company I work for has no light duty. I have to be able to perform my duties 100% which includes lifting 100 lbs and setting it on a table waist high. Also includes climbing ladders and working overhead. While technically the muscle from the surgery is healed enough to do these things I still don't have a good range of motion in that arm and
I'm up to 3lbs on the strengthening exercises. So I really don't see me lifting 100 lbs and I can barely put my arm above my head . With no more strength than I have in that arm climbing ladders in not going to be safe and working overhead is a joke.
I told the doc I was good with whatever he decided. He chose to keep me out.
One thing that really pisses me off is the company is suppose to be really safety concise. So apparently safety only matters when it's not costing them money. Also if they had light duty I could do 90% of my job.
