Im looking for some advice, hope someone can help.
Im using a irig HD into a laptop to record in Reaper. The issue is that the quality is just not there. Correct me if im wrong, this is what im thinking. The recording quality is fine but I cant hear it because im monitoring and listening to the tracks through the (cheap) laptop with headphones. So the sound is limited by the quality of the soundcard in the laptop (no dedicated soundcard, its on the motherboard).
If i use an interface like the Focusrite Scarlet Solo which has an input, for quality recordings and an output for quality playback. Or, use and external soundcard for playback and monitoring.
Would this make a difference?
Thanks

You will find the difference is huge. The irig is serviceable, I have one myself for quick and easy recording. But when I'm at my desk I use my Focusrite 2i2 and no comparison.
