i was at the local gc the other day and checked out this 2006 custom shop vos 58 cherry burst standard they had on the wall. it has a 3 piece neck on it (and i am not talking about the ears). i thought this was strange, and i questioned the sales guy who did not have an answer. so i called up gibson today and they said that real 58', 59's and 60's did not have 3 piece necks, and he is not sure why this one would have this neck either. maybe they built the neck from scrap mahagony to save money?
