If booze is anti-freeze, how come drunks die of exposure every night in cities?

Alcohol is NOT a good anti-freeze for mammals. I'm not sure who didn't get the memo, but I suspect the Russian circus is one.

I thought it thins the blood, which leads to circulation problems which can cause death in cold climates.

In fact, when I was a sailor we used to sell our blood for beer money. Sometimes it would evaporate before they could cap it.
