Hello everyone! I need some help dating a vintage Gibson SG. It is certainly a transition year that is for sure. It has been refinished so there is no serial number. Also the pot codes are soldered over so those are no help either. It does have: 1 9/16th nut, patent sticker pickups (one with Phillips, one with flat head screws on base plates), small guard, conversion to stop tail, older inlays as compared to the later 60s shattered looking pattern, all chrome hardware. So it's kind of a mixed bag here. On one hand we have a small guard and older looking inlays, but on the other, that heel screams late 60s to me. Any advice or expert opinions out there would be very helpful. Thanks!!

PRE 7 hole pickguard '66 to be exact. (I'd wanna see under the guard to know for sure..as that would further help date it..)

See, these went in to early 1967..there were NO batwing guards in '66!!
