For those of you have have no idea what this is here is some more info
http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/squawk-box/256767-phaez-brink-attenuator-review.html
Anyway Randy built me 85% version that goes from 4ohm to 8ohm since I really liked my worn in Jensen p12q 8 ohm. This version is good up to 75w so it can more than handle my 25w Gemini (Blackface and SIBLY).
My hope:
- Knock down the volume so I could up the master on both channels
- Allow a more usage sweep on the master volume on SIBLY and volume on the Blackface (mine goes from bedroom, to max apartment to too loud in a mm)
- Have no major negative affect on tone

I am happy to report that it does all the above as long as you have realistic expectations. If you think you are going to dime 25 Randy Watts in an apartment and the Cortez will keep the police away you are mistaken. If you want to to push your power tube a bit more and make your amp a bit more useable then this will work. My guess is that if you have a 5w-15w you will get a larger volume sweep.
The reality is though you can use it like I have, but the real purpose is for people who can turn their amps up to begin with and want to either knock the volume down a bit (in my experiement 10-15db) or push it further but end up at the same volume.
