Ok, there have been several people wanting to see a comparison of the Page #1 vs the Page #2. Well here it is!!! These vids are about 5:20 long. First I would like to say that I know I made a bunch of mistakes & I know where those mistakes are. So please don't point them out! I am an amateur & have never been paid to play. If I wanted it to be perfect I could have kept trying until I got it perfect. But it isn't supposed to be perfect. I want to take a poll & see who prefers the sound of the #1 vs who prefers the sound of the #2 (my mistakes not withstanding). I think I made more mistakes in one of the videos than the other, but that is not what I am after. I want to know which SOUND you prefer on these vids. So feel free to vote in the poll! And by the way, thanks to John at vanderbilly.com for the help in getting all of the guitar parts together!
By the way, I flipped the toggle to the middle position in the fast part of the solo (like Jimmy does) in the video for the #2. On the other video of the Jimmy Page #1, I did not flip the toggle to the middle on the fast part of the solo because the factory wiring is "out of phase" in the middle position and is not like the original recording. The out of phase sound makes the guitar sort of "quack" and I preferred to go with the bridge pickup instead. But on the Jimmy Page #2, the factory wiring is the normal in phase sound in the middle position. Thus, in that video I switched the toggle and then switched it back like Jimmy does.
