Someone local put a SG JP for sale that clearly seen better days. Neck has come loose being the biggest. What would be value of such guitar it has non original tuners and bridge for the rest looks original including dust from 1971....
Sorry no pictures:facepalm:

Hmm, with those shallow cutaway carves, looks like a 70 or 71. Defnitely not a 72, as they moved away from the trapezoid inlays and did some other funky things for that model year.

Changed tuners, coverted to stoptail, and a currently busted neck? This one is indeed a sad, sad guitar. Which is actually just how I like them!

All of it will come down to price. I see these in excellent condition for $4k, but they sit and sit. I think more of them move at $2k - $3k, but I'm just hazarding a guess. I picked up a similar guitar in similar condition for less than $1200. If it is currently busted, it is not going to be worth much, since you'd have to spend money to get it fixed just to have it be worth 1/2 of an unbroken one, which is a big ask. The changed tuners and stoptail are going to reduce the price as well. The finish and electronics (original or not?) can also greatly affect value.

Like i said, if you pass, I'm interested! thanks!

Thanks!

It has been long sold, not to me btw i passed. He asked 1500€ wich was way to much for me. The neck needed a reset as it was storend in a hot attick with straight sun on the body/neckjoint. Neck was straight.

Yeah, I'm with you, that's too much IMO.
