Are the buttons interchangeable on the pre Asian Grover rotomatics? I have a gold set but it's missing the bushings. I was hoping I could grab a similar set with tulip ends and just swap my kidney bean buttons to it. Also are the o rings and washers that hold in the lube on current rotomatics adaptable to the 70's USA ones? Thanks.

Good question.
I asked the same one about 6 mnths ago and got no answer,so I found out the hard way.

NO.

The button shafts on Asian Grover's are a larger diameter.
I'm guessing that seeing that just about everything else associated with the Epi's etc. is Metric sized, the usual US Grover's are what you will need if you want to swap out buttons.

Another thought is that maybe there are also fake Grover's being spat out(unsurprisingly) which would explain the cheap prices on the Bay for them as compared to a usual set of Grover's that are included with the packaging. The cheap ones come wrapped in paper.

I learned the hard way.

Hope that helps.

The reason this also got me asking is that I picked up a nice set of USA grovers a little while back. They were a little to "chrome" for me so I went looking for a gold USA set. I knew going into the eBay auction that it didn't have bushings ( by that I mean the threaded nut that screws in over the peg winding part) so I just thought I'd take the ones off my chrome ones. No go they won't thread in all the way. Perhaps the threads are messed up by I'm not sure. I'm hoping maybe similar USA grovers can swap buttons. I've already given up on using the o rings from the Asian ones. Can I just swap buttons between USA ones? It looks like the tulip ones may work but I may just take a gamble.
