Ok, so I got rid of my 3 amps today as well as my 1x12 Cabinet at GC for 10% off my new amp and the down payment leaving only $250 left to pay for the EVH 5150 Iconic 112 Combo. It has a 1/4 power mode, which is great for home use and then switching to full power 40w mode for playing gigs. Channel 1 with the clean/overdrive reminds me of the Marshall DSL40C's Classic Gain channel with the crunch mode. The EVH 5150 Iconic has a little bit more body to it, and it hits the Classic Rock all the way through 80's Metal. This should be good.

I have the Gretsch Electromatic version that I found in a pawn shop. Fun little amp but needs a more transparent grille cloth.
Yeah the grille cloth seems to really be choking off the speaker. That said it takes very little to get the stock 6" to fart out

Even though I don't need it, it was like when I snagged the D'Angelico.
DSL1 is still $599 at Sweetwater. Amazon had one listed for $549 that I put in my wish-list.
Yesterday the price dropped to $429, only one left.
Couldn't say no to that.

Just out of curiosity, I tried to look up this amp — on both Sweetwater and Amazon, but couldn’t find any info on ant D’Angeleco amps. Just curious what you have.

Oh no... the D'Angelico is my EXL Premier.
They list for around $800 and Amazon had a red one at something like $450... the black and white ones were regular price.

Man those Marshall price hikes are fucking killer. Weren't those things like $299 or $349 or something two years ago? In head form, anyway, maybe not the combo

Picked up this used Supro Black Magick (non-Reverb) a couple of months ago in a trade.

Always curious about these but never tested one. Got it without even turning it on. I love it, big sound, small package, plenty of bottom-end, and sounds great with or without pedals. Perfect grab-and-go amp.

In addition, Supro’s customer service is top notch.

A keeper amp.

What's odd is that the prices are the same in Canada as the US prices, but in Canadian dollars.
My DSL1HR was $399, $549 now.
I bought a mint, used 1974CX 1x12 for $550 vs the retail price of $999. Same cab is now $1,549.

I haven't noticed the combo go up in the last year.
But Sweetwater now lists the head for $549... that seems like it's gone up this year.

Canadian prices are the same as US, but not cheap enough to make it worthwhile for us to have a Canadian friend buy one and ship it to the US

Saw an interesting video from Psionic last night on the Supro 12
Decent amp, but the input and output jacks did not have lockwashers and would spin, and the pots and switches were not snugged up.
It was a rare case where he was able to repair the amp's symptoms without breaking out a meter or soldering iron.

So far my amp has been solid.
