FS 1965 Gibson SG Special

This is an amazing instrument but also serves as a fantastic piece of history with an original hand written guarantee from Chicago Musical Instrument Co (who actually had controlling stake in Gibson at this time), price tag, Gibson manual and leather strap. The paperwork references the serial number and colour of the guitar and shows it was sold by the store on 3/01/1967. It's not often a guitar comes with such provenance and this is consolidated by a receipt from Pym Guitars who sold it to the previous owner in 2014 again referencing the serial and 100% originality of the guitar this is very much a purchase with confidence.

The original tuners have been swapped for preservation purposes, they are a little stiff but can easily be serviced and are included in the sale along with the repro set currently on the guitar. No extra holes have been drilled this was a like for like replacement which can be easily reversed.

Located in Scotland but can be posted in UK/EU message me to discuss.

For Sale : 2004 Custom Art Historic '57 Goldtop.

Refinished burst top, which "moves" in the light , with Bare Knuckle PG pups, and Grovers, all the work done locally by a guy who really knows what he's doing.

You'll see that there's some pick wear under the bottom E, but then that's roadworn, which normally would cost extra!

Otherwise, it's in great condition, with no breaks and comes with the correct case and C.O.A.

I can post, but would much rather deliver within reasonable distance of North Yorks.

£2850 anyone?

VINTAGE ORIGINAL BLACKFACE AMP.
SEPTEMBER 1964

This is a 1964 Fender Vibroverb. It is an original export amp and comes with the factory correct power transformer and voltage selector.

Unique is an overworked word. It means one of a kind. I’m sure other original export Vibroverbs exist, but I have never seen one.

Speaker is original and is coded 465-433 so an Oxford from 33rd week of 1964. Visible pot codes include 137 6420 – CTS pots from the 20th week of 1964. The tube chart is coded NI – September 1964.

Baffle is original, as is the grill cloth. All the cab fittings are original. Reverb tank and footswitch are original.

Output transformer and choke replaced with True Tone to save the originals, but the original supplied transformers are boxed with the amp.

The amp has just had a £450 sympathetic service and all out of spec service items were replaced with period correct parts. Sprague caps. The reverb and tremolo both function as they should. The tolex and cloth are in above average condition and the amp looks good. It is loaded with a compliment of new TAD and GE tubes.

Will ship in a flight case case that belonged to Jim Bob from Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine - so there you go!

MARSHALL JMP 50w LEAD HEAD
AND MATCHING 2 x 12 CAB
ALL ORIGINAL MAY 1973

Amazing condition Marshall JMP 50w Lead head and matching 2 x 12 cab with G12H greenbacks.

The amp is a lay flat transformer, tag board amp signed by the famous Rosemary.

Speakers are T1281 dated DF19 – or April 19th 1973 which ties in with the date noted on the amp inspection chart.

Both amp and cab have factory vinyl covers from new.

At some point someone has added an earth check to the rear panel. This just lights up if the amp is earthed. It’s a simple job to remove as it just takes an earth tap from the power transformer, it’s not a circuit mod. I could have removed this and filled the two holes in the back panel, but it’s part of the amp’s history and I’ll leave it to the new owner to decide what to do.

The amp sounds fantastic, incredibly loud and totally Marshall JMP.

I’m selling a few amps as I haven’t played them live this year and they need to be used more regularly than I can manage. This is a collector grade, no excuses, unique matching amp and cab. Find me another! I also have a Bulgin lead to come with the amp.

£2995 - plus shipping. I will work with the buyer to arrange shipping - I do not have flight cases for the head or cab but those could be bought from BSH Flightcases who are local to me.

LOVELY COPPER ESQUIRE – REVELATOR BODY, WARMOTH NECK

This was a Revelator bodied Esquire I bought but didn’t like the neck. That was replaced with a solid rosewood Warmoth neck.

The neck is vintage boatneck spec, with heel adjustment and 7.25in profile. 6105 frets. Indian rosewood.

Callaham bridge, Callaham compensated saddles, old Fender control plate and knobs. Nocaster bridge pickup.

Comes in a Fender tweed case.

Very vibey, resonant Esquire which weighs in at 6lb 15oz / 3.14kg.

The back of the body had bad runs in the paint, so now black backed.

£995 plus carriage.

NIK HUBER ORCA 2009 FADED SUNBURST

Nik Huber Orca. March 2009. Faded sunburst.
Mahogany neck.
Mahogany body.
Brazilian rosewood board.
The COA describes it as an "exceptional curly maple" top.
Haussel Classic humbuckers with coiltap on the bridge p/u

A stunning guitar in every way. I cannot find a single mark on the guitar, hence it's mint condition. Original case.

Neck is a 59 medium C profile, plays perfectly. The colour is "faded sunburst" but there isn't much burst about it, I'd call it dirty blonde or even amber.

Guitar is cased (but not flightcased).

Contact me for more photos.

£3995 plus carriage - I'll work with the buyer to arrange fully insured shipping using Mail Boxes Etc. who pack professionally and fully insure.

Interested in Teles, Strats, Les Pauls and SGs plus cash. Pls be aware though that the US Strat you paid £1500 for isn't worth that in trade!

I have a Jtm1c (not for sale sorry) just adding to the 'its an awesome amp' user experience. I have an NOS mullard ecc82 and the stock marshall ecc83's and it just sounds the bomb. Although having said that its not for sale, i would swap for an nvidia rtx 3080.

1957 Les Paul Special

This is an outstanding guitar, probably the best I have owned. As a guitar it’s as good as the 2 pre cbs Teles I have had but as an instrument it’s a much cleaner and fully original example (bar the case) than those so has to be my no.1 to date.

So why sell? I often go through a phase where I decide I have to much money tied up in the guitars I own so makes sense to free some of that up and invest it properly. In the past when I have done this I have often come out the other side having added cash for something even more expensive
s
Will try not to do that this time but you know what anything goes so let me know what you have.

Guitar is all original parts and finish but comes with modern Gibson hard case. Some cosmetic wear and very cool lacquer checking (for those of us who are into that sort of thing). Note a little finish discolouration on the back bottom right. No issues whatsoever.

Looking for £9000 cash firm plus any postage costs

Will consider trades and px but these must equate to £9k comfortably especially where I am taking on guitars that I would only be selling to achieve the full whack.

Only interested in USA Gibson, Fender or Martin guitars.
