Nine Inch Nails gave away a free album years ago. I gave it a shot. Wasn't impressed. They did, however, have the decency to offer the album online, downloadable to anyone with a computer. I've never had an iPhone, and I'm pretty sure I never will. Guess I just don't need to hear it.

U2 are amazing. Their best days are behind them, but hey, like Metallica they're in their 50s with kids in their 20s. At least they're still creating music.

Their stuff post-turn of the century is by the numbers, and boring. If their early stuff is too post-punk for you, I guess I could understand that. And if their mid '80s stuff is too anthemic and earnest, I could get that too. But if you can't even get into their '90s stuff, you just have sh*t taste in music. And the fact they wrapped up all of their early '90s stuff in satire and image manipulation, while mocking the mere act of doing that, and still succeeding musically was quite an artistic meta feat of reinvention.

After one listen, the new album is better than the last. Sleep Like A Baby Tonight is stellar.

I'm not a huge fan either and I rarely listen to them. However, I saw them on the Zoo TV tour and it was a monstrous show.
