Firstly, apologies to all for this post being not entirely dedicated to vintage Les Pauls (or is it? I dunno yet). However, a couple of contributors over in the general Les Paul area have suggested that I appeal for your help, as we are ending up getting nowhere over there.
I am trying to help a friend date a LP Jr. With the help of some of the contributors on the MLP forums we have decided that it is probably a refin. Here's the thread so far-

There have been some useful contributions from the Luthiers Area too-

So, as mentioned, a refin is most likely but we are having difficulty pinning down whether it is a reissue that has been refinished or an older instrument. The fact that the pot codes date to 1977 (and the Jr was out of production between the early 60's and the mid 80's) just makes things more murky.
Any help anyone can give is much appreciated.
