Hi all,
I'm finishing my second build, and have question about tuners. In previous guitar I tried gotoch SD90, However the string posts were to short, so i switched to a groover deluxe, but they don't look right. Do anyone knows what is the correct height for 59 tuners post, and where can I buy it without breaking a bank?
Thanks

Another thing to remember is that on 'bursts (according to BOTB, at least), the headstock taper meant that the posts closer to the nut sat slightly lower than those further away.

I can't remember the exact average thickness for original headstocks, but seem to remember that 15mm is somewhere in the ballpark. My current build averages exactly that and I'm using the SD90s. I also own a set of original 1959 Klusons and the Gotoh posts are a tiny fraction shorter. Maybe 0.3mm? Not enough for the naked eye to worry about, anyway.

Thanks for the replay.
My headstock is 15mm draft to 16.5mm at nut. My problem is that the holes in pols are to low and I have to wound the string up from the hole what is kind a awkward, or I’m doing something wrong? That was the reason I switched to groover delux. I would like to know if this is common for all vintage correct tuners.
Cheers
