I’ve noticed the newer Gibson Les Paul’s using the newer ABR1 Tune-O-Matic bridge. Not sure the metal used is a s dense as was the ones back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. My 2018 Gibson Les Paul Tradtional sounds bright and thin even after changing pickups. Could the Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge be more mass to improve tone and sustain? Or could in be the wiring in the electronics making this guitar sound too bright? Thank you in advance.

I don’t think there are grades of die cast zinc.
There are different weight stop bar tailpieces though.
Light aluminum is more “vintage” spec.

Whilst the bridge is an important structural aspect, it is only one of many that make a guitar. People changing bridges have noticed subtle eq shifts, but thats typically when changing brand - or where the bridge is made from a completely different material completely.

At this stage all we can say (given the complete lack of detailed information supplied) is that it could be hardware, a fault common to the (possibly 2) sets of unknown pickups you have tried, the electronics, or a 'its just that guitar' scenario.

Didn't they switch to an aluminum bridge and TP around that time? My 2017 and 2018 SGs have those.

I’ve seen other people talk about the huge difference adjusting pickup height can have.

I suggest trying some different string types/ brands/ gauges. Strings make a huge difference in tone… and it’s a cheap experiment.

As was the case with my 2017 Studio.

OP, I changed min as my guitar came with chrome hardware, and installed an ABR-1 for the looks. Since the ABR is made of a different material there was a minor change in tone which I like, but nothing that can't be eq'd.
