I'm currently starting a EB Axis style build but have some questions about truss rod. This will be my 6th build but first one with one piece neck. Actually going to build it with route and skunk strip through the back of the neck. Im thinking of using a Hot rod spoke wheel rod from stewmac. The truss rod length won't make it up to the string nut. actually barely past first fret. Do you think this will effect the relief curvature of the neck? I've built one other guitar with the rod adjustment at the heel and I have a hard time getting low action without string buzz(LMI 2 way rod, 21 frets so it did make it to the string nut).
I hope this makes sense
The other 4 guitars I've built had LMI rods with adjustment at headstock and they play better. I know there is a lot of variables to making a guitar play good. Just wondering if this is coincidence or there is something to it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
