If it still pings try actual nut lube or graphite from a pencil.

+1 Most LP tuning problems are caused by the nut (strings binding, or slots not cut correctly), so work with it first. If you are still having tuning problems, then I would look at the tuners, etc.

If after trying the graphite & or nut sauce I'd look into having your nut slotted as it sounds like it's too tight.

Thanks for all the advice. It looks like I've got a range of solutions here, from the least to the most radical, so I'll start with the graphite shavings.

i have no clue but doesnt this need to be addressed...

ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS: When you're G String Slips, you MUST lube your nut.:D

Do you reckon this is contributing to the strings' inability to stay in tune?
