He's one of the local celebrities I hope to bump into around here (Burlington, VT) some day. I'd be glad to see the other members of Phish--but not sure I could pick them out of a crowd (unless Fishman is in his mumuu, or doing a sound check on his electrolux at the vacuum shop).

I go way back with Phish, they used to play at Keene State College in the late 80's early 90's for $3 at the door.. it was the first time I saw people play and jump on trampolines.. LOL... the vaccum cleaner would come out... a great Time... I used to work at The Colonial Theater in Keene and my roomate would book Phish and talk on the phone with Trey,... a great Time... it was before Electra Records signed them... man it seems like yesterday.. back in my Fluff Head days.. LOL...

Trey is a very very good guitarist. Still hate Phish though.
On a similar note, Jimmy Herring is one of my favorites but I don't like Widespread Panic either. His solo stuff is mind blowing though.

WideSpread, I hung out with those guys in 1995, I saw them in Albany NY at this little place, at the end of the show me and some guys were hanging out in my buddies van we were parked next to the tour buses, I was drunk and decided to knock on the bus door... the door opened up and the bass player came out, I asked them if they wanted to party with us, so the guitar player,(the original guy who has since died) and the keyboard player came out and hung out with us in the van.. we drank some whiskey and did some other things and talked about the music industry, it was really cool...

Glad to see Phish gets some love here - been a fan since I heard a buddy's copy of their Nectar album in '93. Trey's one reason I wanted a humbucker guitar. I've heard some stuff from their current tour and I think they sound great... glad they've still got it.

I think Trey's a great guitar player, but his compositional ability is truly amazing. This is one of my favorites - all those chord/key changes in the long solo, sounding so seamless. Awesome. (I love to play this one too)
