Bright and early to deal with the finest this city has to offer!

I didn't get a ticket the HempBird got a parking ticket... friggin' cops around here have nothing better to do in the middle of the night than write parking tickets.

Even though the HempBird lives with me she still has out of state tags and the cops see that as an easy shake down since out of state tags automatically go on the boot & tow list even for a meager parking ticket.

So that means I have to get up extra early and go to traffic court... for moral support I suppose.... hopefully I can keep my mouth shut!:laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:

We went to the wrong place first went to the parking authority building and they sent us to the right place.

She checked in when we got there then sat until they called her name... told them I was her witness but they wouldn't let me go back with her for the hearing.

Long story short they dismissed the ticket against her but kept all the photos I took of the city vehicles parked illegally in the same place she got her ticket!:laugh2:

I was all ready to argue the case for her and show how city vehicles park illgeally all the time and how its a travesty that the tax paying citizens get these tickets while city workers dump all over us and take our parking spaces. I was ready to show how the cop who wrote the ticket was a racist and should be fired for being such... you know, I should've been a laywer instead of a head shrinker!:laugh2:

Hemp,
If you said your were her representative for the hearing rather than her witness, they should have allowed you in.
Over here, if someone is denied representation by any kind of authority (courts, Police, etc.) then their action is invalid under 'natural justice', and any decision (or in the case of the Police, any charges/court action) would be dismissed.

But good to see that she won. And good for you being able, at least, to point out the errors of others.

:laugh2:

Ya know a few years back I got jammed up in a speed trap, he was hiding in the bushes. Of course the highway I was caught on was in New Jersey and fines were doubled on this particular stretch of highway... I was looking at a $600 fine plus 3 points on my license.

The trooper was nice enough to point out the address on the ticket to send my check figuring since I was an out-of state resident it would be easier to just plead guilty and send the check.

I showed up in court with a stack of paper work the size of the yellow pages about RADAR, how radar needs to be calibrated, how it needs to be reset after every use (stop), how these things need to be logged in the troopers log, whether or not the units calibration tools have been calibrated and by whom, and where's that log? Oh yeah I was prepared for my day in court, even if it took ALL day I was getting my day in court!:laugh2:

When I arrived at the court house I was having a smoke outside and there were a couple of other people there, we had small talk about the weather. When I went inside the prosecutor called my name and it turns out it was one of the people I just had a smoke with outside. The prosecutor asked me my intentions and I told her I was perpared to argue my case. 5 miuntes later she called my name again and said: "I talked to the judge and he agreed to give you 1 mph over the speed limit (no points) and $100 fine". I asked who to make the check out to!:laugh2:

Moral of the story Judges can't be bothered giving you your day in court and would rather get what they can and send you on your way!:thumb:

In regard to the racist cop who gave the HempBird the parking ticket... well simply why was HempBird the only one to get a ticket when others were parked illegally yet received no ticket... other than the fact the HempBird had out-of state tags? I had photos of the 'other' illegally parked cars (including city owned vehicles) which were kept by the traffic court judge!:laugh2:

John, here its about ghetto justice, the courts and other legal authorities do as they please and get away with it unless you stand up and make sure your heard. Even doing this you take your wellbeing in hand as usually it gets you a beating.

One time, my daughter was advised that she was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident. The case being that she had allegedly reversed into another car. The fact she had not done so meant that by definition, she had no accident to stop at in the first place.
So she was called for interview at a Police Station. I went with her. The Constable asked her to follow him to an interview room, as she would be interviewed under caution. I proceeded one step behind her, so he told me I had no right to be at the interview. Now this is where, for me, it got hilarious! He did not have a clue as to the level of legal grounding I had from my job. So I said to him, go check out the Police And Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE1984) and any amending regulations first. And if you want to, go check out Judges rules concerning the right to representation at formal interviews, and the rules on natural justice. If an individual wants to have representation alongside them, then it has to be granted, and it does not necessarily need to be a solicitor. The face of this young smart-arse of a Constable turned to the colour of boiled shite, and he said, wait here a minute. He came back about 10 minutes later and said to me "My Sergeant said it's OK" I told him that if the answer had been the other way we would have both walked out immediately and the shit would have been hitting the fan in pretty short time WAY above both their heads.
The charge was dropped, because the Police could obviously not prove in court that somebody deliberately chose not to stop at a non-accident.

Yes but your daughter WANTED you there John!:laugh2:
I was there whether the HempBird wanted it or not!:laugh2:
I had actually told her I would pay the fine for her if I lost the case!!

HA! Most likely!

You know how the PPA is seeing how your from the area.

When I went through the metal detector I put all my lose change into the bin and the smart ass security guard told me they take the change as a contribution. I immediately went into a rant about how this city shakes me down enough as it is and I'm damn lucky that I have a pocket full of change in the first place!:laugh2:

Oh I was PRIMED!!:dude:

Be interesting to hear your analysis of some of the characters in this place. I bet you'd have a ball.. But then again, you probably wouldn't be so popular either. :laugh2:
