Tonelabs: which one?

Okay, for recording Ive decided on grabbing a VOX tonelab... but which one would be better?

the LE or the EX?

can you record using usb, making the EX effectively a 1/4 mono to usb converter with lot of extras.... or is the LE a better choice?

answers appricated, i found a LE in my area for 180$ on the list.

I problem I found with the Tonelabs is that you can't bypass the amp modeler. You can record through USB.

I know that, and Im planning either to use it on its own or tadeem it to my VT and do a thick dual head tone kind of thing, like running a mesa into a Marshall....
