This song may not be the best for a tone demo. Also, my rust shows a lot on this one.
Also, if the youtube police take down the video (and possibly my account this time!), I have also provided a link to metacafe and photobucket. The song is "Tea For One" by Led Zeppelin (of course!). I just learned the middle solo to that one, and that is what I presented here. The guitar is totally stock. I love the super dark braz rw fret board. The neck is bigger than I prefer. But I am not playing concerts; so I am not worried about cramping.
The amp is the same one I usually use: Marshall 100 watt 2x12 combo with a Marshall power brake. But this time I did play through the clean channel; and I put the gain on 8; reverb was about half way up. Those settings were the best I could do to come close to Page's tone on this one. It isn't my best, but it is functional. I really need to be playing every month! Special thanks to John Cunningham (owner of vanderbilly.com and guitar.com) for providing a video where he performed the same solo; that is how I learned it - and with my ear.
