What effect on tone does it have to spin both pickups in a dual humbucker guitar?

The pole pieces in the neck pup are facing down and the pole pieces of the bridge are facing up instead of neck facing neck and bridge facing bridge.

I have a PRS that I got that way...never noticed it visually and it always sounded fine. Just wondering why it was like that and what effect that may have.

When I turned the neck pickup around in my LP I perceived it to be just a tad brighter, and not as "woofy" as it was the other way.

I did this to a LP Ultra to get the same effect. The strings don't vibrate as widely the closer they get to the bridge, so the pickups lose low/midrange response as you move from the neck toward the bridge.

Your neck pickup, like B said, would be a bit less "boomy" and your bridge pickup won't be quite as bright and harsh.
