just from the bit of reading I did they made their customs with mahogany tops like they did in the 50s.

Yeah this is one strange guitar indeed, I think it's somekind of special edition of TLC60

everyone else seemed to have made a sunburst custom too so no surprise they made one too.companies made stuff never ended up in the cats too for whatever reason.
might be like the lc65 john sykes model?

the tlc60 is
[Body Top] solid mahogany 2-piece [Body Back] mahogany [Neck] mahogany [Fretboard] rosewood (black stained) [Pickup] Tokai '57PAF Vintage MkII [Parts] Gold [Finish/Color] WR, BB

so i'd go pretty close to that with the addition of maple for the top & CS in the colours
no i don't have bionic eyes i just pasted it from here http://brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/tokai/1984/en_03.html :thumb:
yeah i'd call it an TLC60CS.

oh close but once again I'm proved wrong.

Exeptions are year of manuafacture original 81' with no headstock logo, mine is still 1985 with logo on the headstock. I dont think this was supposed to be made in year 1985 in this color, well there are some strange things in japan.
