Hi all,
I am looking at a Tokai Les Paul custom and trying to figure it out. He said it is a later 1980 model but the serial #9803112. Would it not be a 1998 or 1979? Also the Head logo is like a 1978 as in the Tokai registry catalog. 81 had no logo and 82 changed the logo. So I am leaning to a 1979 year. Did Tokai only make LC 110, 100, 60 and 60M then?

I will be staying away from that one. I wanted a vintage 78-82. That is odd that a guitar store does not know the year of it and its made in their country to boot.

You can always go for the LC-100 at 148k tonight if you want something high end. Otherwise wait for an LC-60 from early 80's to show up at a decent price.

Good luck finding one earlier than 1980. I have seen a few from 1982-1984 but still have not seen an LC-100 or 110 from 1978. Josh

Those 90's custom can also be made of basswood. I had one of those. Good guitar, with febs and so on, but not mahogany.
