jdto, chasenblues and ltkojak, you three might want to form a blues trio and turn the gain down to zero exploring the space on stage for a maximum of different anti-squeal positions and always keep the stage volume below 50 decibel not to disturb anyone in the audience (if there is one) - rightfully then calling this band "The No Squeal Squad", how about that?
This would finally enable you to sneer at all those crazy rockers with tons of gain and excessive stage volume and ... having fun!
I am serious ...

I do not want to go where you already are ... in the land of wanna-be's
At least I try to be a bit creative in my posts whereas you are just copying somebody else's pic or cartoon

You are even more not-so-should-I say-intelligent if you are trying to be funny ... why do you think did I include a smiley??
It's fun to see how an alleged illustrious member of academia turned into an Internet sock puppet.

Thank you for the laugh! Really appreciated!

Now be a nice boy and go play with those poison ivy bushes right there...

At least I can put together more than half-sentences and old cartoons like you.
I can tell you, it really helps in real conversations with real people ...

And exactly what did I do to you, min käre vän?

Nothing that I can remember of, but I very often find your attitude derogatory towards people with what might in your world be "stupid" questions. If you don´t feel like replying, don´t do it, but there´s no need to have a ****ty attitude towards people with genuine questions.

Now, feel free to continue your cockfight, both of you :)

Not me. He cannot be reasoned with. I was clearly wasting my time on someone like him :)
I still find the thought of the three bullies forming a non-squeal blues trio very entertaining ...

Just listened to two of the songs on "Fool's Gold". Got a nice Motörhead'ish attitude. Like it.
That is probably why you could relate to my original question.
But: I must strongly advise you to turn down the gain ... ;-)) As an intelligencer of the Squeal Elimination Police I will have to report it to my senior officer, Lieutenant Kojak of the Special Gain Squad :)

Do you/can you do it for a living in Sweden and Europe?
In Kafe 44 (YT) you are as near to your amp as me most of the time. Plus, one rarely sees a full Orange stack on stage.

He he..

Thanks!

Kafe 44 is a really small place, we usually play a little bigger places (regular clubs), so I´m usually a bit further from my amp than that. But I don´t find that my amp feedback alot, the problem is usually the monitors, since they are right in front of me. It´s hard to face another way and still be facing the audience he he.

Do it for a living?? Ha ha, hardly. Far from. Especially not in Sweden. It might be easier in say Germany, since they´re a much bigger country with more people, but on the other hand, we always have the advantage of being swedish, since rock and metal from here has a great reputation.

The Orange has no problem at all with feedback actually, probably partly cause it´s darker in sound, but also since I don´t use an OD for it. But these days I tend to play a Marshall 2203 more often, and I do use a OD for that one, and it´s a really bright amp, hence more sensitive to feedback.

Check this out, here I have both the Orange and the Marshall stack on stage :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls2ZiIiahrc

There are fewer and fewer bands over here that can make a decent living from touring through clubs and playing county or city fairs. If they can they are usually cover bands. There is a club nearby (capacity maybe 400) where twice or thrice a week you have the usual lot of cover acts, like the Pink cover band, the Led Zep cover band, the Robbie Williams cover act etc pp. I know a bassist playing in the best Queen cover band I know. they play around 120 gigs per year and they get 6,000 € per gig. This is quite a lot but they are really that good and after 10 years of touring the country up and down can rely on a network of fans. Still, 6k will have to cover 5 band members, truck, stage technician and mixing engineer. Still they can all make a decent living. But many others will need an additional day job to make ends meet.
But where are new bands with their own material? That might surprise me? I cannot stand these cover acts anymore. What a boring thing I should say. But the owner of a club or the manager of a city fair knows that people will show up and drink a few beers.
Thus it has become tough for new bands to even get a decent gig let alone make money. So even though my country might be a lot bigger, the change in society is the same. The young(er) generation is not as much into rock music than my generation, far from it. Consequently, album sales drop to zero plus, attendance at rock concerts of more or less unknown or local bands is decreasing. So we are thrown back to what we started with: make music and play in bands because we love it. Express ourselves to please ourselves, and maybe, if we are lucky, please a few others as well.

How did you finance the video production? Did you get signed to a label?

We play underground music just for our own amusement, so that´s fine.. I never had any ambitions to live out of music, mostly cause I´m afraid it will turn into a regular job. And what (interest) do I have left when that happens??
But yeah, being a touring musician is not for everyone, no matter how big you are. Even if we did in fact earn alot of money, I don´t want to live on the road. I have with previous bands toured almost all across the world (not south america, but most of europe, US, Mexico, Japan), but these days having kids I don´t want to be away from home that much. So pure hobby level is good for me.

Yes, both our albums are out on record labels, but we financed our videos ourselves really since the labels are small indie ones. We happen to have friends who are into video making, so with some effort it all worked out quite fine.
