To silverburst or not I need your guidance

I have a chance at a 2003 sam ash limited edition les paul custom silverburst the only thing is unlike a real silverburst the back of the guitar is all black there is only a silverburst on the front my question is are these special at all will it turn green like the originals did after time are they the same specs as a regular 2003 custom pick ups electronics woods etc and what do you think of the quality of the 2003 model years I know that production of the customs transferd to the custom shop in 2005 also to get it I have to trade in my 2013 prs custom 22 which is a high quality beautiful guitar and is a awesome player I already have to many guitars so the wife says if I get the silver burst one has to go and the prs is the least favorite but its still bad to the bone I need your help what should I do?

If you like the sound or the feel of your PRS i wouldn't give it away, also there is no such thing as too many guitars. But if you really like the Gibson and you don't have any choice go for it.

It is a real Silverburst. Gibson just didn't burst the backs until more recently. There is nothing "special" about it (not sure why people think that way).

Go with the one that plays better. As for turning green. .. hit or miss. I think gigging in smokey bars is one cause of that. I've also heard of people leaving it in sunlight because they want the green. And pickups and all that can be replaced if ur not happy. As for quality. .my 03 std. Is my #1. I love it. I think its one of the better years for Gibson.
