I too wondered if Reissue was all hype (would it be that much better than my Standards/Customs/PRS 594, etc ?)
... Bought a 2007 R8.
Can't believe I waited this long. It's magical.

Been playing my Tweed since I got the R8 as I had it hooked up prior. Hooked the Quilter Aviator Cub up tonight and holy moly. Totaly different animal, much brighter and articulate. Way freakin louder. The R8 definately has more clean gain on tap. About twice as loud as the Standard with the same settings. It was so loud my wife came down stairs raising hell and she never does that. Need to do more investigating tomorrow night. I will have the house to myself.

Comgrats on the R8 :)

I think you did the right thing. I had my R8 last year returned and have had more than 20 guitars after that one and none sounded and played as good as that R8 did. I managed to get it again from a different store, somebody had traded it in for another guitar hehe.

you can see it and read about in this link if you like :)

I have several LP's, but only 1 R8 and I wish I had more! I got mine used about 10 years ago for a little more than the price of a new Classic at the time. The R8 is on the left in the front row, it's a 2004 and it has tone of the GODS!!!!!!!

A few years back I picked up a minty 2001 R8 tobacco burst that had similar-vintage Peter Florance Voodoo 59s in it. 8 pounds 9 oz. Let’s just say I haven’t been tempted to sell it and pick up a standard production since!
