Tips for a MIJ Les Paul Custom budget about 1000€

Hello,

I'm looking for a MIJ Les Paul custom; budget is about 1000€. Preference is a black model with good pickups.

I was on the brink of buying an Edwards LPC today, seller wanted 850€ I was able to bring down the price a bit, it already had EMG pickups (not my cup of tea). He insisted it was a Japanese Edwards guitar but apart from his word there was no proof. I ended up backing out of the deal. Just like with the Korean Greco afterwards.

I'm not in a rush; I also have Mayback Cherry Lane 58 LP which I adore.

Tips to specific websites or models are more than welcome.

if you need ebony board, edwards can really be a solution under 1000E.

The thing is they are not fully build in Japan. They seem to be partial Chinese. Which I'm not keen on. I know they are supposed to be really good though.

To my understanding.... depends on the year. That being said, check the yahoo japan auctions. You can find what you are looking for at the price you have in mind.

No replies necessary anymore; bidded on a Warmoth Les Paul with Bareknuckle pickups in Belgium. Got a killer deal and it includes a case. I'm happy .

I agree though. Specs are too good to deny. But.. again - LP is a Gibson brand. Are all the other clones Les Pauls?

It's all debatable.
