Last night my wife came across a live perfomance by Third Day on the Gospel Music Channel. I often listen to Third Day but I never really watched them before. I was surprised to see one of their guitarists using an Elitist LP, an Epi LP, a 12 string Casino, a Flying V, and an Epi acoustic. Whether you listen to Christian rock or not these guys ROCK! It was pretty cool to see so many Epis on stage.

Yeah, but you can find plenty of dealers that still have them for the prices before the increase. Just like search it on google shopping or something.

I love the Elitists (and have 2, as well as a Casino and some Epi LP's!). The video you were watching must have been older...?

I'm not a big 3rd Day fan, but I did work a special duty shift as security for one of their concerts about 2 months ago - their guitarist was playing PRS - exclusively. He probably had 5-6 PRS (Customs or Standards, I don't know which) - a Mira - and an SE Singlecut. I talked to his guitar tech after the show, and he was saying that a couple of the guitars were one offs from PRS, and I asked him what he thought of the SE vs. Epiphone - he said that he's gutted the one that was used during the show and upgraded everything, but that he liked the SE series PRS guitars much more than Epis.

Not that I agree - just what he said.

The band that is touring with them (I can't remember the name...) is from Australia, and were brought to the USA by 3rd Day to tour with them (according to announcements during the show) - I talked to their guitarist for a few minutes after their set, and we talked guitars some. I mentioned my R8 and '69 Deluxe, and he said that he really likes Gibson guitars, but now that he's sponsored by PRS, that is all he plays. I'm assuming that he got his sponsorship through 3rd Day, who is clearly sponsored by PRS, at least currently...

Their new guy was pretty good. He musta swapped guitars after every 2 songs, it was kinda OCD. He used at least 8 guitars for 20 songs.

Any video of Brad that I should check out?

Oh if you don't want to watch the whole thing, about 3:00 is where it gets loud.

Mark Lee was their only guitarist other than Mac. He's the guy with the slew of PRS guitars. Brad must have quit...

Todd Agnew has some good blues/bluegrass styled guitar work.

Saw him in concert not too long ago.. he's awesome live.

Has this song, A Corner in Memphis, I can't find a link to it anywhere, but it has a nice Memphis blues sound... really got me back into the blues.

(oh and this is Epi related, Todd plays an Epi Casino [I think its a Casino] sometimes)
