JWST shot of the Eagle Nebula with some scale points drawn in.

For a deep sky object is pretty tiny and needs lots of magnification. This is still the best shot I've managed. Terrible focus and pushing the limit of the scope and mount back then. It sets quick after dark (in the Fall when I'm shooting), so not much time to shoot it.

Imagine if the early explorers had better optics, it might have been named the "Dragon Nebula"

Fantastic.
Awesome record... 186 launches and only 2 failures plus the pad failure. They haven't failed on landing since Feb '21

Just watching RocketLab as the helicopter homes in on the booster to collect it in midair.

How long do you think before they're realistically ready to shoot for an orbital test?

I'm pretty confident that Starship will beat Artemis to orbit.

T-5:19 for launch of Artemis... they're going to try it.
Loading fuel into the upper stage now.

I might stay up for it... planned launch around 22:04 my time, but it's a 2-hour window.

Live video of Artemis.

And...hopefully they'll fix this before they have to abort AGAIN.

It's hard to tell, but they are moving toward it pretty quickly.
