This is made for people looking for marshall type tones on a pedal,i was going to able the poll option with a few pedals just to reunite all the knowledge possible about it,but unfortunately because of the variety of marshall tones it wouldn't be a good idea.

Any suggestions?

if you do a flowchart that goes from JTM45 through to the modern JCMs, the box of rock would go near the start, the shredder towards the middle depending on where the contour knob is set, i'd say :hmm:

I think Wampler makes the best amp in a box pedals.

The Plexi Drive is great for JTM45 or Plexi tones. The Plextortion is great for JCM800 tones. The Pinnacle is more hot rodded Plexi Brown Sound type of EVH thing. My fav is the Plexi Drive. Best MIAB I've heard.

I'm sure it will be said, but I think it really depends on what KIND of Marshall tone you are after. Wampler does have some of the best sounding pedals I have ever heard, but the PlexiDrive will give you a must different tone than the Pinnacle even though they are both based on cranked Marshalls. With that being said, I currently have the Marshall Jackhammer 1 for a light JCM 800 sound (only on the 'overdrive' setting that is), and will consider a Wampler Pinnacle or if my budget is tight a Cmat Mods Brownie for that EVH tone.
I've palyed a Crunchbox and wasn't that inpressed by it BTW.

We already know that but my idea is to put all that knowledge together for other forum members
I think this gets close to a jcm800/modded plexi?

I use a Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret Mk I. It will do Plexi and JCM800 tones.

There are plenty of videos on youtube. I think this may have been the first, or at least close.

The one I just painted. :)
Lets see:wave::D

So many marshall tones, i have to wonder what each idea is, i mean my first thought is the live "tool" sound, I bet im prob. the only one thinking that when "Marshall Sound" is mentioned. I hope not. Adams marshall tone when live is Insane IMHO

For some of his heavy stuff yes, its hard to tell what he is doing at any one time but it seems his tone is mostly derived from his marshall, in studio he uses amps like pedals :shock:

Lucky bugger, one day.....:dude:

I haven't played one of these myself, but I am sold from the demos I have heard. I hope to try one soon.
