Well, I just came across this. The concept seems pointless and is extremely ugly! The color on the back of the Goldtop looks like a 5 year old got creative with some pudding..

I think mine is ugly. I didn't like any of the available finishes or the black backs on these 70's Tributes. But for the significant price drop, $899 to $529, I'll just live with it. I may try to do a re-finish at a later time.

I'd say if you change the pickguard, you'd change it a lot! If you can live with it, don't.
