Hi. I haven't been here for a very long time. Thats because I finally found the guitar that I always wanted:
- a 1959 Gibson LP Historic CS Reissue between 1999 and 2003;
- including all the case candy;
- as new as possible.

So I drove in september of 2021 a few hundred miles to somewhere in Germany and bought this one. This is what they call a closet queen, I guess? But this one also plays great and sounds awesome. Full untouched and original, except for the strapbuttons. I've changed the back to the original Gibson ones.

So this means I don't have to search for guitars anymore. It gives me a lot of peace.

I felt the urge to come back and share my final NGD. This also means I won't be active anymore on this forum. However, I do will read all the comments. Thanks!

No need to abandon us here at the MLP forum, but, if you must, good luck on your journey.

If you become a big rock star remember us won't you?

Congrats on your new R9.

How about a shot of the control cavity? I'm willing to bet that's one of the Killer Tops from that run.

Stunning, congrats!

Looks fantastic. What made you search out these years?

My tech has a 99 R9, fattest neck I’ve played on an LP haha. I’ll keep my 2021.

How 'bout a shot of the back of your Gibson amp, so we can see if it's a 20, 40, or 42?

Fantastic guitar, btw.

Why does buying a guitar keep you from participating in this forum ?
bosnialove: So this means I don't have to search for guitars anymore.

Why does buying one guitar keep you from searching for more guitars? LOL!

Congrats @bosnialove and HNGD! No need to abandon us here though... this isn’t just a bunch of people searching for new guitars, you know. Okay, this is just a bunch of people just searching for new guitars, you know? :laugh2:

I need to clearify why I'm abandoning all the forums I used to be on. I used to be active on these forums because I was always looking for the one. Always when I found something that could be the one, there has always been something changed on it. Therefore I was here gathering information an knowledge about period correct hardware, pickups, case candy, cases and so on. This one is the one, so theres no need for me to stay active on forums. On the other side, I havent been active here for two years either way, but I felt the urge to say goodbye. I wont spend my time anymore on being active on forums, in stead of that I will be spending the time acutally playing.

The fact that Im also always driving on my motorcycle and therefore not having enough time for everything probably also has to do something with it, haha.

See ya.

congrats on the '99. I have had 4 of them. I know the location of one of them, and it is the one I'd buy back if I could. The buyer loves it and isn't looking to sell.

good luck with your adventures, check in once in a while. I may be in that state in a year or three myself.

Not for nothing, but I bought a '99 40th R9 and fell absolutely in love with it. I was 100-percent sure it was "the one."

Then I found another LP that totally blew the Anni out of the water, sold the latter within a few weeks and never looked back.

I wouldn't go deleting your MLP bookmark just yet...

All of my Les Pauls are "the one",.... and i have a few,.... I can blindly grab a case and walk out the door knowing good and well the guitar in that case will produce exactly what i want when i need it to.

I have to admit that one of anything is no fun for me.....

My advice to the "one-and-done" thing,.... Never say "one-and-done". :cheers:

Yep, I'm an idiot.

I asked my daily SQOTD, and never saw the GA20RVT in your signature line until right now. I too had a new 2005 for a few years, and am semi-actively looking for another, or a 40, right now.

Usually my Stupid Question Of The Day appears at work, not during play.

Rock on, Boz-love, hope your future playing and cycling treat you well!
