If I were you, I would give it a try...who knows.
and that's one of the only guitar those players can't buy as only one exists.

That guitar belongs with Warren Haynes. He would do it justice.

Musicwise. Not for a pretty picture. LOL

...................................Round Two....................................

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMlKmELIhgY]YouTube - Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen[/ame]

well i'm waiting on some parts for some other builds and i think i got enough leftover wood to make another scattervarius, ......so i think i will

first off i have to level off the workbench/router/planer table, it's getting a little lumpy

DSC08638.jpg

i put the level to the rails

DSC08640.jpg

and routed that baby nice and flat

DSC08644.jpg

i glued up some mahogany last year and it's time to use it

DSC08645.jpg

i use a screw on each side to hold it in place and route it flat then flipped it over and did the same

DSC08646.jpg

i was going for 1-3/4", two corners were 1.750 and two corners were 1.755, i got within 1/5000" flat, not bad

1DSC08650.jpg

i also made a table for the drill press

DSC08665.jpg

a lot more area to work on, helps a lot

DSC08666.jpg

i dont have a bandsaw and i thought i'd see if i could get the body cut faster and straighter by drilling holes first

DSC08657.jpg

it was not to hard with the drill press

DSC08659.jpg

it did help stop the jigsaw blade from wondering, saved a little time and was easier to cut out

DSC08662.jpg

i got the template screwed on and the sun was going down so i called it a day

i have glued up a bookmatched fiddleback top for it so it will be a little different from the last one, and i dont know for sure but it might be getting 12 strings :hmm: maybe if i can come up with some parts, i got time to think about it

this is a pretty heavy piece of wood, very nice but heavy so i drew out what i want to cut out

DSC08693.jpg

then off to the drill press and drill drill drill and made a mess

DSC08694.jpg

then freehand routed the edges to get a nice line to put the router bit bearing against, and made a mess

DSC08699.jpg

then route some more, and really made a mess

DSC08700.jpg

then routed a wire channel

DSC08702.jpg

got it done and cleaned up the mess, i think i ended up with ten gallons of wood chips out of that thing, i then brushed the inside with ebony stain cuz it will have f-holes

DSC08701.jpg

then planed down the bookmatched fiddleback i glued up yesterday to just over 5/8"

DSC08703.jpg

wiped a little lacquer thinner on it to see the pattern

DSC08704.jpg

using the clear template

DSC08706.jpg

traced it out and cut it

DSC08707.jpg

got it glued on the body by the end of the day

DSC08711.jpg
