well let me tell ya, the stud posts that came with this bridge, i dont know what size they were but they wasnt 6-32 i dont know what they were made out of and i didnt trust them, so i went and got some 6-32 x 1-1/2" stainless steel machine screws, but then i had no thumb screws that would work, so i went to the hardware store and went thru there stuff and found these things, i forget what they were called but they were brass and 6-32 threads :)

i cut part of them off and sanded them a little

and i had some nice thumb screws

so i'm waiting on some pickups from Budz to put in this but wanted to play with the pickups i made last week so i put them in, then remembered i never grounded the bridge, so i took them back out and drilled for a ground wire to the bridge post, all is good

then i made this plastic thing, i didnt want to drill pot holes till i decide exactly how i want to do this thing but want to get everything else setup, and hear my pickups

wired it up like so

sweet

and got it strung up

i tell ya it's gonna be killer, so far it doesnt need any fret leveling, sounds so smooth, i'll use measurment after it is setup to help make my ebony/bone bridge and swap it out in the end

so now i'm going to tune it up, plug it in and play it a little and let the strings stretch over night and do some nut work and setup tomorrow

ohh it's getting so close to being done :fingersx:

I like the clean look without the knobs... I know it wouldn't be practical at all, but mounting them on the back would be awesome.

your a genius scatter. I really like the pickup control cavity/launch center. I think it is pretty practical in the back if you had some low profile knobs

It looks great with the black P90.
you could use black knobs for the vol and tone , why not ebony knobs?

me too, and I think anyone could operate them reasonably just maybe not as quickly.
I would sure be a shame to drill that top, or side for that matter, I'd leave the jack in back too

Scatter, that is an absolute work of art. :dude: I can sit here and look at
it for hours. It would be a shame to put any knobs on the front at all. BUT,
I know you will pull something fantastic out of your hat. :thumb:

Now Scatter, your skills amaze me.......:thumb:

In terms of the controls, I would maybe think about a jazz box and the Mary Ford type arm rest (violin chin rest), so that the controls counld be mounted underneath, hidden, off the body and wired round back, so nothing can be seen and no hole drilled in that beautiful top. Switch could be a buttom mounted in the plate itself (or strap pin?)....Just an idea. Whatever you do, sure it'll be great.:thumb:

Bit like this Collings (just see the controls on the bottom edge of the scratchplate):
