Is there a way to make the calculator count the bobbin turns and not the crank turns?
Or do you just know how many winds you get per each hand turn?

It's absurdly cool either way!

counting the bobbin turns is to fast for the calculator, the reel is 4.8 to 1 ratio, thats what it says on the reel, so i crank it 2083 times to get 10,000 winds, the calculator can keep up with the switch on the handle pretty easy, takes about 15 minutes to crank one out, i'm working on connecting it to a counter on my computer that will count much faster and sticking a drill or motor on the reel instead of the handle to wind them faster

this thing is real smooth and balanced well, i think my dremel hooked to the cable attachment can turn it easy, cranked out a p90 spinning the handle with one finger, and quiet too

if you have the triger on the counter set to act as the = and it's causing it to just add 1 for every crank, you could set it to add 4.8 every time to get an actual wind count and still keep the rate of input low enough for the calculator to keep up.

I still don't understand how you get the calculator to hook up to the reel. either way this is insanely cool. So damn creative. I bet hes got this thing motorized by the next post.
