But people who have not invested in property - perhaps intelligent people who have invested elsewhere or are living overseas don't get a say? So let's assume the old man owns property. I turn 18, 21, 33, 45 - whatever. As long as I'm living under his roof I don't get a vote?

Back in the *good old days* you have to be a land owner to vote. Very thankful I live now, and not back then. I also support a photo ID requirement for voting. Voter fraud is a real thing.

I'd like to see voting limited to citizen taxpayers (by taxpayer, I mean those who actually contribute - not those who file a return and get back all or more than they paid).

When I joined this site, I had no idea there would be so many ignorant, racist, misogynistic dimwitted assholes here. Lets see so under your rule anyone with a net operating loss in a given year could not vote? No you probably just intend to apply it to the poor. Do you think poor people are entitled to less rights than the rich? Perhaps there is a class of people who didnt ask to be born poor in a ghetto and a society with structural barriers to success? I grew up dirt poor and for all my native intelligence I would never have succeeded without a government that made higher education possible for me. I ended up a lawyer and did well but I havent forgotten what it was like or the people I knew. And so the people who contribute - who are they, the rich who have exploited the resources of our country to become wealthy and rely upon an underclass. What amazes me is you are probably not rich. Certain classes have controlled the lower classes by making them hate each other - you know, like the myths that people on food stamps have a great life, or the way we villainize the poor in this country because they must not have worked hard enough. Nobody villainizes a rich sack of shit who doesnt work. Or make working men want to blame immigrants for lost jobs. We are in trouble and our democracy will be given away by biased unthinking people. Rich people get welfare in this country - its called connections and tax cuts and a lot of other insider advantages. I am getting old but will never be a scared old white man afraid of change. About now this captain dave the HOA president will appear to strike me down. I notice he lets the "conservative" assholes run amok. So throw me off the site I havent learned a thing about playing guitar here - I just see a lot of jerks, and some decent people who get jumped by the jerks. PS any guy who thinks we should just execute people for a repugnant act doesnt know anything about our system of justice, which routinely convicts innocent people.
