+1 on the SIBLY. From personal experience.
With the boost on, through an Eminence Legend GB12 (full details at link):
Phaez SIBLY Demo 1 by DrHobbitstein on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free
I still have to set up for a demo with the boost off, as that's how I play it, but I recorded this within the first 24 hrs of owning the amp (I've posted this before).
This amp still manages to amaze me. At practice, I use it through my rhythm guitarist's open back 1x12 with a Cannabis Rex (he uses an identical sealed 1x12 built from the same sheet mine came from, only his has a WGS Retro 30). Incredible sounding amp. Some nice bounce if you need it, but will tighten up with the boost on. I get complements at every show. I have a big one coming up in July, and should have a camera guy out there. Hope to have some video clips of the SIBLY in action.
Single octal. Either 6V6, 6L6, KT66, EL34. As this would be a new 2011 design, I'd have to do some listening before deciding.
Would that be similar to the DC channel of the Blackdaisy I have? It certainly does the job!
I think there is some mic overload in the heavy parts of that clip. My preffered settings- everything at 1 or 2 oclock, the amp should be agressive but also pretty saturated, and should also clean up well.
That clips was a rush job shortly after I got the amp for those who were begging for clips. I think there were a few hard clipping spots if I remember correctly. I don't use those settings at all anymore (matter of fact, I only used those settings that day). My current settings are: Boost off, gain at 10-11 o'clock, master at 1-2 o'clock, Mids at noon, bass at 11 o'clock, and treble at 10 o'clock. Works well with my band, my leads cut through the mix like no tomorrow, and I blend in well with my rhythm guitarist. Next month we start recording. I'll post a couple tracks once we're done.
Got a SIBLY el84 ordered, how many watts speaker am I going to need?
Isn't the 18 watt rating at clean, and cranked more like 30?
saw the m75 recommendations.
Gotta watch the budget for now though

Very interesting about this "new studio monitor" Jim. Could you expand on that a bit as per"mixing for live recordings"? As per studio monitors, do you mean some form of a powered nearfeild or passive? Reason for my interest is I'm a bit of a recordist....so I will be back at developing a new studio monitor for mixing live recordings ....there is a few speaker projects in the works for Randy and Myself.....JIM
