wow I cant believe they weren't hunted down and destroyed by the Big G for building that guitar.

Chandler was doing contract work for Gibson at the time and stopped after 20 to keep the relationship.

To be fair, it retailed for $1,800 in 1980 which apparently equates to $5,550.78 in today money.

Didn't want to necropost the Chandler thread...

I can't believe they don't look "off" aesthetically with a 25.5" scale. I would never have guessed by looking. Very cool guitars with a very cool story.

Dang...so my LS60 is the equivalent of a guitar costing $1850 today? And my LC100 would have been more like $3100? No wonder they're such great guitars.

No. It retailed for 180 k Yen in 1980. Go back and check the historical value of the Yen versus the USD in 1980.

in 1980 a bottle of ketchup was $99.

today it's $2.79.

the refrigerator however cost almost the same amount. in fact, i bought a new fridge this year and it cost 30% less than a similar model did in 1980.

so, good luck with the sales guys. history means fahk all when it comes to what your guitar is worth.

anyone selling a korina bacchus flying V?
