Ideally, no. Common? Yes.Is it normal for a lightning bar on a 61 SG Special RI to be higher on the 1st string end than on the 6th string end? The stopbar has 3 threads showing on the high e end, and none showing on the low e end? Everything feels right, and no buzz, but I was concerned when I noticed this.
Good lord I need a special !! Beautiful 55 too!!!'55 and '56

Thank you, I feel better about it now. The "tech" did a fairly poor set up as far as the string height. The actions not awful, but I can do better, and now that I'm making it a player, I will. That will even it up a bit better after I gave it a really good going over today. Disappointed with Gibson QC though , found 2 areas on the binding that look like someone used a roller with lines across the wheel, and pressed too hard. It left a little 1/4" depression on the top, and one about 3/4" on the bottom a few frets difference between them or I'd think it was in a vise, but you have to look pretty hard to see it. I wonder if they'll fix it on a seven year old guitar that's not been played since purchased? I doubt it. Again ThanksIdeally, no. Common? Yes.

Of my wraptails, all of them have this quirk. Not any exact amount of difference, but always seeming to defer to the higher strings.
