I did the mods primarily for tone, second for looks. I'm very happy with the results!

I only have 2 RI's/ In my BB7 I changed the Gold Grovers to waffle backs with vintage tulips. I aged the covers and went with a SD Custom in the bridge. On the R7 Goldtop I have a set of SD Antiquities. Both guitars look, play and sound great to me so I don't have any further plans except wiring the BB7 for one PU hot in each of the 3 toggle positions.
My 2013 R8 is currently 100% stock, but I’m about to drop in Haeussel ‘59s. Custom in the neck and Standard in the bridge.
I also just sent a project 2010 Traditional off for a diet historical renovation after changing out every conceivable part. But it’s a Traditional, not an historic, so I’ll keep it off this thread...ha.
Pickups are a custom set by Sanford Magnetics done in double creme. Bridge and tailpiece are a Faber Tone Lock set. Knobs are reflectors. Also put a metal jackplate on it after I ruined the original plastic one at a gig. I still want to install locking tuners and put a new wiring harness in there with some matched caps and pots that have a better taper. They're stock aside from the bridge volume pot, which had to be changed when I had the new pickups put in.
Hello Folks, I've purchased a 2016 R8 in faded Tobacco finish in February this year. Since I wasn't really inspired by the standard electronics I decided to commit for few upgrades, similarly to what I already done on my ebony 335. Below you can find the R8 HGND thread...
