Love it, thanks! It's amazing how different the color is in various light, sometimes the red glows, sometimes it appears more orange, but a really beautiful guitar.

Thanks a lot! Yeah, but it looks even better in person... :naughty:

She sounds fantastic! It doesn't matter what pickups are in it, it has always sounded great. From the moment I first played it at Long & Mcquade in Calgary, I had to have it. I quickly sold my first Historic (2005 R8) and went back and bought it. :dude:

Btw, I was told that when it was finished at Historic Makeovers there were lots of nice comments from guys in the know (burst owners) that this thing REALLY looked the part and sounded exceptionally good. It was nice to hear positive comments from those guys. :applause:

Thought I'd throw my 2012 R9 up to show aging. All the hardware and parts have been changed, the guitar was stripped, re-dished, old aniline dye and high solids nitro lacquer. then it was aged by my Gibson buddy who does the Collector Choice models. This one has all the shadows under all the hardware!

Guitar - 2014 Shop Aged R8 "Orange Drop"

Tuners/Tips - Aged by Mark's Guitar Loft "milk bottle" Grovers

TRC - MGL TruVintage Rolled light aged

Nut - stock

Inlays - stock

Fretboard - stock however I took some good advice from member Mike60 and was able to carefully emery board down the sharp edges on the fret board binding and rolled them down nice and rounded! Huge improvement. Likely wore them round like 20 years of playing would have.

Switch Ring (aka.. Poker Chip) - MGL aged Monster Relic Clone 50's

Switch Tip - Stock

Switch Nut - Stock

Pickup Rings - ThroBak Cream unaged

Pickups (and Covers) - ThroBak MXV MC102B set. Double cream, exact match of the rings

Pickguard - MojoAxe light aged (OUTSTANDING match for cream ThroBak rings/bobbins)

Pickguard Bracket - stock

Bridge (posts, and thumbwheels) - stock posts w/ MGL TruVintage aged 50's Thumbwheels

Tailpiece - stock

Tailpiece Studs - Stock

Knobs - Monster Relic Clone 50's Bonnet

Pointers (knob) - stock

Jackplate - Gibson Chrome MGL aged by Mark chrome jackplate

Pots - Volume: Seymour Duncan YJM Yngwie signature 500K low friction. Tone: Dimarzio

Caps - NOS Sprague Vitamin Q .022mF 400V

Backplates - stock

Refinished - no

Other Mods - MojoAxe aged Schaller strap pins with the correct large screws. AWESOME!!

Future Mods - likely nothing. The ABR and stop tail piece is often modded but in my experience its a downgrade in tone for whatever reason. I will also likely swap the switch tip at some point.

I Made The Mods To My Guitar Because - putting on correct parts really does make playing the guitar that much of a better experience.

Dark board and stock inlays. If they were "dirtier" or aged they would look great. Just a bit to neat for an aged guitar.

Wow!!! Amazing work folks!! I'm curious about something I noticed. Some of you modded CC's, and caught my attention. I know guitars are made to be played and whatever works for the owner is great, but hypotetically, wouldn't take away from the price if ever sold? I ask because I have some CC's myself and am always tweaking things in every other guitar. But just didn't dare to touch those ones as I am afraid might affect resale value.

Interesting thoughts. I have a CC8 and I've mod every single aspects I could. All reversible. Some may feel it is 'not that wise' to mod a CC but not me. :)

Reversible is the key. Then I'll say - why not? :)

All parts changed out. Well.. Except the tail piece inlet bushing piece..& the inlays..

Pickups changed to Beastbuckers. Sounds amazing!

Thanks for the reply!! I think the same, I mean, as long as you put it back to stock when selling, shouldn´t be a problem. The only thing some people may be picky about is the markings of solder. But nothing major IMHO
