I think that if PRS released their Singlecut looking like this one, they would have lost the lawsuit with Gibson. This is the most Les Paul Singlecut that I have ever seen. The body is bound and it has Grover tuners.

This is a custom shop one-off built for Keith Nelson of Buckcherry in 2007, at pretty much the apex of their band’s popularity. It turns out that Keith is a diehard Les Paul player but I guess Paul thought he would give it shot. The skull and crossbones inlay is a work of art. On the back of the headstock it says, Custom built for Keith Nelson, and Paul signed it. I was told that Keith traded it in to help finance a 1959 Les Paul.

I like it.

Probably the older SC58 have the most Gibson ish tops. Their gold tops nail it pretty well too.

PRS McCarty 594 single cut
Oh yeah, I forgot about those! Those have a nitro finish, too.

Nonetheless, I will leave my title as is, even if it’s just for click bait.

As has been shown from lawsuits, the only thing that Gibson can enforce with shape is the open book headstock design. Even iconic body shapes like the Flying V were considered open usage in a recent ruling.

Man, you guys are brutal.

That is another good point, however. The 5th knob is for the piezo.

So, forget about all that other stuff I said and let’s focus on how very bad ass this guitar is.

I have owned a few PRS and only kept my sc594 SH when I went on an LP binge, its a little touchy I suppose

Gonna say that lower horn provides better access for the big runs.

I would think the 594 but I haven't played one yet.

SC58 sounds like it could fit as well.

For me, my old McCarty doesn't do a bad job. Great tones to my ears.

The most LP like PRS I have ever played was a DGT. Don't look like one but has a good vibe
