What pisses me off is the fact that there are doctors (I mean DOCTORS!) here in Germany who insist that this corona pandemic is just hype and fake. On top of that there are media that are supplying a platform for them to propagate their BS..... :hyper:
One of the puzzles the rest of Europe can't understand...
How Germany has so many cases yet evidently their death rate appears so low... :hmm:
You'll never get rid of that sort of thing in any crisis Tom. Conspiracy theories and political point scoring abound at times like these.

We have a good ratio of intensive care beds in relation to our population. We are quite early in the pandemic in this country - it can still get worse. I think that public authorities have acted and reacted fast enough and with proper measures to fight covid 19...

With you being a Skrat Mang, about the Lester & the embossed pickups.....

My new Lester & Non-Skrat Disposal Service will handle disposal of all non-Skrat guitars/parts/accessories.....

I am also 100% confidential when it comes to donors....

If you ship today, I could have them by Sat. and I could initiate the disposal process....

You made us look at them twice. What has become of this place???
I feel your pain.

Frank, please, no more knob galleries. Things are bad enough as it is.

Most likely a statistical anomaly. More data and time elapsed will probably bring Germany's death rate into line with other countries (assuming adjustment for number of ICU beds, % of population geriatric with underlying health issues etc).

I think also, as a people in general, Germans follow the rules. We have a low number of intensive care beds due to a health service cut by the Tories and in massive debt thanks to Labour. Governments have successively hammered the NHS and this virus is going to stretch it beyond its capabilities, especially where people are continuing to socialise and move around the country. The rural towns and villages should be fairly safe and able to supply medical resources to the harder hit areas like London, but unfortunately the Londoners, through their own selfishness have decided to spread the virus evewhere. We won't get a true picture now for another couple of weeks, but if the flu normally kills about 8000 people per year in the uk, and that is with a flu vaccine being available, this being purportedly 10x worse, expect upwards of 80,000 deaths. Now that is a sobering thought. The Germans seem to have kept their death rate down to slightly above normal flu levels, hats off to them. Early identification and hospitalisation seems to have kept the whole thing proportionate.
While we all poke our governments with a stick, let's not forget the total fiasco in China, where we probably don't know when the first case came to light, the false reporting of figures, the destruction of laboratory test results and the victimisation of health professionals who needed to be heard. There will be many deaths attributable to this Chinese regime.

G'day all.

A dreary start to the day, but is supposed to warm up nicely this after.
Maddie is resting on the couch so she can drag me for miles. Know why Phil digs walking pugs; he can keep up with them at an exercise pace.

Peaked into the larger board: made my skin crawl. Glad am I to have found this place.

Never really a fan but always liked this. Has become kind of my theme song.
Don't really. Being an inveterate old warhorse it is hard to hunker with so much that needs be done it makes so some of my twitch issues press forward. I know is nothing but a thing and will pass. Besides last night's dreams were something to savor.

Hope Ma smiles on us all.

Don't forget the Austrian ski resort Ischgl where a barkeeper had been tested positive re: corona but the place stayed open for another two weeks due to the greed of the village's officials. The virus spread from there to Germany and several other countries...

The 80s in this country lionized greed and it has been a spreading malignancy since.

Fact check:

The NHS budget rose, on average, by 3.6% per year since 1949 until the Tories got in in 2010. Since then, the average annual increase in the NHS annual budget has been 1.3%.

I have a '75 t-top with an embossed cover I consider a spare which I would be willing to part with. Admittedly the '75 isn't "legit' like the '71 patent sticker I have installed but who's gonna know but you?
Looking at Ebay prices...and the fact it's formerly owned by yours truly (which adds to the provenance considerably) I'll settle for a gajillion dollars. Or store credit. Whichever.

I see blue sky. Also watched 4 KC135 tankers at about 2 minute intervals on final into Forbes Field. Been a lot of traffic into Forbes this week but this is the first time there has not been a low ceiling that they were not above.

Maddie saw her first lizard of the season though by the way she been watching our log border think she heard them several weeks back. They will keep her busy this summer.

Think good thoughts.
